Somewhere between the NW 5th Street bridge and the scrapyards where the Miami River bends south, the air doesn't move in June. It just holds. One in the afternoon, and everything along the water operates at a single frequency — generators on docked freighters, the low idle of tugs waiting for clearance, that particular drone the city makes when it's too hot for anyone to raise their voice. DJ Gunther dropped into this frequency at 1:05 and never left it.
