Be Where I Am — Six Hours To Arrive There

Metroplane's Be Where I Am lands at one in the afternoon and Daniel Wilson's vocal floats over the last of it — a statement so quiet it almost isn't one. But getting here took nearly six hours of precise construction, and nothing about this ending was accidental.

Rewind fifteen minutes: Groove Delight's Ex Machina was still pressing forward, mechanical and insistent, while I-95 ran heavy and the airport expressway ground moderate. Mauro Masi's Echoes Of A Moment held the midday space just before that — a producer who understood the room was no longer waking up but settling into itself. Februm and Monomax pushed Dance through the speakers at twelve forty-five, and Tensnake's Free shifted the energy without breaking what had already been built. These were decisions made for a city that had been listening since sunrise.

Work further back and you find the architecture. The late-morning run — Aberton's Catch My Love carrying Ibiza's Pacha DNA, Sebastien Leger and Lost Miracle's Ramses stretching time, Dr Zavin's Liminal State doing exactly what the title promised. Before that, Vintage Culture's Nirvana remix and HAFT's Paper Tiger gave Sounds Uncovered its spine. Groove Armada's Lightsonic arrived at nine-twenty while light rain moved through Brickell at eighty-three degrees — the kind of weather that makes a groove feel necessary rather than decorative.

But the real foundation was laid before eight AM. Foletto's Forgive — that Curitiba hypnotist — Engelhart's organic touch on Peace of Mind, Chicato's Speedway 71 with its percussive Buenos Aires precision under broken clouds and eighty degrees on Key Biscayne. T.Markakis opened at seven-oh-five with Love Away, when the morning was still deciding what it wanted to become.

Every track after that was an answer to the question the first one asked. By the time Metroplane closed, the answer was already obvious. You just had to be here long enough to hear it form.
